The disability (loss of work capacity) pension is paid by Sodra when NDNT (the Disability and Work Capacity Establishment Service) determines that a person has lost ≥45% of work capacity. It is paid both to those whose disability has been determined since birth and those who acquired a disability while working. There are three levels: 0–25% work capacity (severe disability), 30–40% (moderate), 45–55% (mild — smallest pension). Separately — targeted compensation for nursing/care, paid together with the pension.

Eligibility

The disability pension is available if:

  • NDNT has determined a loss of work capacity ≥45%
  • You meet the minimum Sodra contribution requirement for your age (younger people need fewer years)
  • You have your declared place of residence in Lithuania or the EU
  • The disability is the result of illness, injury or a congenital condition
  • You submit the NDNT decision and the doctors' findings
