One-off birth grant
One-off ~11 BSI (~€572) benefit from the municipality for each child born or adopted.
Start application →The one-off benefit at the birth of a child is paid by the municipality. The amount is 11 BSI per child, around €572 in 2026. It is granted regardless of family income or assets. The same principle applies to adopted children (only payable from the date of adoption, not from birth). The application can be submitted via SPIS within 12 months of the child's birth (after that you lose the right).
Eligibility
The one-off benefit is available if:
- The child was born or adopted in Lithuania
- The child is registered as residing in Lithuania (or is an EU child with a work or residence permit status)
- The application is submitted within 12 months of birth or adoption
- The same child has not already received this benefit a second time from another municipality
