Childcare-leave benefit
Sodra benefit for child-care leave up to age 1 (77.58% of compensable wage) or up to age 2 (split: 54.44% + 35.77%).
Start application →The childcare benefit replaces the maternity benefit after the 70+56-day leave ends. It is granted to one parent (mother or father — chosen by the family) who takes childcare leave and temporarily does not work. Sodra offers two formulas:
1) Up to age 1 — 77.58% of compensable wage paid (one parent; higher amount but shorter period). 2) Up to age 2 — 54.44% of compensable wage in the first year, 35.77% in the second (lower amounts, longer period).
Parents can switch — for example mother takes year 1, father takes year 2. The formula is chosen once at the time of application.
